Jean Wyona Newman

NEWMAN, Jean Wyona - November 6, 1923 - November 16, 2010. Granma Jean showered us with love and of course treats, bacon and cheese toasted sandwiches, orange crush floats, peanut butter marshmallow squares, cherrychip cake with white icing, instant mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs in the microwave, gumdrop cake, apple muffins, and my favourite of all cake in a can. She played the spoons, whistled and sang, sat on her front porch and greeted all those who came by, she loved to chat on the phone for hours, and knew everyone and everything they were doing. She loved to attend church, and all the dinners, dances and functions at the Udney community centre. She attended our baseball games, school concerts, and graduations. She was an amazing hostess who threw planned and unplanned dinner parties with ease and always lots of food. Made sand castles and forts with us at the Bearlake cottage, let us brush our teeth with lake water (we all thought that was so cool.) Took us to Sprucedale for ice cream, and let us stay up all night stuffing ourselves with roasted marshmallows and wieners. She loved knee highs and slippers, hair curlers and bathrobes. Makeup and nail polish was a must but the most important was lipstick. The shade I am wearing today I picked out with Granma in mind. Thank you Granma Jean so much for being such a wonderful part of our lives, you are deeply missed, but forever remembered.13226170
